Meet Terry, football fan and care champion

     January 20, 2020

As a child I always had a football at my feet. My family has a football background so this was always going to be the sport I was attracted to the most. Even to this day I wouldn’t have it any other way.
It’s everything. I coach the local underage team and by doing so I feel that I get to give back to the community in a positive way. However, the social aspect is equally as important to me as you are improving social skills, meeting new people and building friendships. Plus, a match is a great excuse to meet up with the lads.
Yes of course, I think everyone is a bit competitive. As a famous man once said ‘If you ain’t first you’re last’ - (Ricky Bobby).
For me personally, one of my favourite memories was receiving a number of scholarship offers while playing in a football tournament in the United States. Second to that, it has to be watching John Terry miss the penalty in the 2008 Champions League Final, or when Stevie Gerrard slipped against Chelsea - I’m a big Man United fan.
Extremely important! You need to make time for the things you’re passionate about, outside of work. I find playing and coaching is a great way to unwind after a busy day or week.
I am a Technical Specialist on our Customer Advocacy Team which specializes in complaints, high-level escalations and ensuring our members get the service they deserve. As a technical specialist, I’m also highly involved in projects relating to our online platforms.
If I had to pick one word it would be “compelling”. Every day is different. There are always challenges to overcome which helps me stay focused and motivated on continually improving our customers experience.
Every month we introduce you to a new Allianz Care Champion. People are at the heart of what we do and we think it’s important to showcase the wonderful staff who are here every day to help our thousands of customers across the globe
