How to claim or get treatment pre-approval
First time claimant?
- If it is your first time claiming, we first need to set up your policy before you can submit your 1st medical refund.
- Download and fill in the applicable Claim form available in the ‘Plan Benefits’ section above and send all required documents to IGOclaims@allianzworldwidecare.com. We will then confirm your personal policy number.
- Once you have an personal policy number submit your claim via MyHealth digital services.
- Should you have queries about how to claim, contact the Helpline on +32 2 210 6501 or igohelpline@e.allianz.com.
Indicating that:
- you are EUROTRAINEE,
- clearly state you do not yet have an individual policy number
- give full name, date of birth
- and specify the European Institution you are training with.
If the Helpline officer can’t find your details in the system, please kindly but strongly insist you are an unrostered insured trainee and that you have coverage.
Pay and Claim
- For outpatient treatment
- Get an insurance statement from your local insurance provider.
- Get an invoice from your medical provider .
- Claim back your eligible costs via our MyHealth App or web portal. Simply enter a few key details, add your invoice(s) and press ‘submit’.
Treatment pre-approval
- Get an insurance statement from your local insurance provider.
- Complete and submit the treatment guarantee form available in your plan benefits along with all supporting documentation at least five working days before treatment.
- We contact the hospital to organise payment of your bill directly, where possible.
Frequently asked Questions
You have to pay for all out-patient treatment first and then claim for the refund of medical costs incurred. Please follow the procedure in the “How to Claim” section.
For some treatments however you may need prior approval. This is the case for dental prostheses or treatment which is not given by a doctor. This means that you need to submit your treatment plan to our in-house medical team in order to obtain authorisation for this treatment. Our medical team can be contacted at: igomedical@e.allianz.com
Download the Treatment Guarantee Form available in the Plan Benefits Section and send the completed form to us at least five working days before treatment to igomedical@e.allianz.com
Please always advise us at least 5 days before being hospitalised for planned hospitalisations and as soon as possible for emergency hospitalisations. Our Helpline team can also take Treatment Guarantee Form details over the phone if treatment is taking place within 72 hours.Please then contact our Helpline by email/ phone at igohelpline@e.allianz.com or (+32) 02 210 65 01.
For hospitalisation (in-patient care and out-patient surgery) we will arrange for direct settlement with your hospital.

You have freedom of choice when selecting a medical provider for any treatment you may require as long these are reasonable and customary costs. You will be refunded within the Terms and Conditions and limits applicable depending on your type of insurance.

No cover is provided for simple material damages of your glasses end/or frame.

If you are entitled to claim from another primary insurance scheme, you must first send your claim refund request to that insurance. Once you have been reimbursed and have a settlement statement, you may submit your claim to Allianz Care that will only intervene as a top up.
When applicable, we will refund you with the difference within the Terms and Conditions applicable.
You may only claim once for an amount of medical expenses.
If your primary insurer refunded you for a part/total amount of expenses, you may not again claim for these same sums with another primary insurance solution. You only can claim with us for the difference when acting as a top.
We will only create your individual policy number after your first claim refund of medical costs. The individual policy will not be created upon simple request.
We have access to a list of all insured trainees declared by the traineeship office under their global insurance policy during your traineeship. When you call for information and you do not yet have an individual policy number, identify yourself as a EUROTRAINEE, clearly state you do not yet have an individual policy number and give full name, date of birth and specify the European Institution you are training with. When you have finished your traineeship it is possible to apply for an extension of the same health scheme you were covered with during your traineeship for a maximum period of 12 months. The application to continue your cover must be submitted at the latest one month after the end of your traineeship
The commencement date of your cover will be the first day following the end of your traineeship.

Leaving your group health scheme
When you have finished your traineeship, it is possible to apply for an extension of the same health scheme you were covered with during your traineeship for a maximum period of 12 months. The application to continue your cover must be submitted at the latest one month after the end of your traineeship.
The start date of your continuation cover will be the first day following the end of your traineeship. Click on the 'Find Out More' link below to complete a continuation cover request and get a quote from the Allianz individual team.
