Wherever you are in the world, family will always be your top priority. For globally mobile expats, a major consideration when choosing a destination country will be ensuring your children’s quality of life and educational needs are adequately met.

According to the HSBC Expat Explorer Survey, Sweden is the best country for expat families, offering the best quality of life, health and wellbeing.

Over 75% of expat parents residing in Sweden stated that their child’s quality of life had improved since they relocated, compared to just 60% globally.

Childcare was also a prominent factor, with 75% of participants rating the quality of childcare in Sweden as better than what was available at home, compared to just 47% of expats elsewhere.

A healthy lifestyle was seen as a major factor for Sweden’s high ranking in the survey, 69% of expat parents said their children’s health and wellbeing had improved since moving to Sweden, compared with a global average of 49%.

The Czech Republic and Singapore came second and third place respectively as the best places for expat families.

HSBC's Expat Explorer 2016 survey polled nearly 27,000 expats from 190 countries and territories.
