But where did expats rate as the best destination for expatriate living in 2016? The latest InterNations Expat Insider Survey has found that Taiwan is the best country for expats in 2016, topping the list of expat destinations above 66 countries and regions.
According to the report “Expats living in Taiwan particularly appreciate the local transport infrastructure and the travel opportunities, as well as the quality and affordability of healthcare. A high percentage are also happy with their financial situation while 34% couldn’t be more satisfied with their current jobs”.
The survey showed that an impressive 85% of expats were satisfied with their financial situation, compared to a global average of 64%.
In addition to claiming 1st place out of 67 countries in the overall ranking, it is in the top ten for every individual index. Taiwan holds first place in the Quality of Life and Personal Finance Indices, impressing with the quality and affordability of its healthcare and the enviable financial situation of expats living there.
This is the 3rd annual survey conducted by InterNations, Ecuador, last year’s best destination dropped to 3rd place, while Malta advanced by one position to take 2nd place, in this year’s survey.
