Companies like Google and Facebook offer employees free food, gyms and training courses in a bid to keep staff happy and productivity high. They are seeing the return on this investment in the form of increased employee satisfaction. Google found wellbeing initiatives boosted happiness by 37%. This in turn impacted their bottom line, with a 12% rise in productivity.
There are two sides to an employee’s wellbeing; physical and mental. Although one will impact the other, it is best to have a separate wellbeing strategy for both, if possible.
