Allianz Worldwide Care received the Best in Class Award for its range of international health insurance plans designed specifically for Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs). The NGO Care plans, launched in 2012, offer solutions for different categories of staff, region of cover and assignment duration.  There are five plans to choose from and these can include cover for in-patient treatment, out-patient treatment, dental treatment and evacuation or repatriation. Two of the plans can also be used as a ‘top-up’ to the CFE (French social security for expatriates) – for French expats, this means that their social security cover remains uninterrupted, with no waiting periods when they return home.

The plans are sold exclusively by Antaé (formerly SANO Concept International) and its French partner Ambrelia (formerly SANO Care) and offer NGOs a simple, flexible and convenient solution, all from a single provider.
The award’s judging panel explained: “With very few health insurers offering specific health insurance plans for NGOs, the judges were impressed by the fact that Allianz Worldwide Care is delivering a specific solution to this burgeoning sector. With around 40,000 NGOs sending staff abroad, often to remote or poor areas, the Allianz Worldwide Care solution fulfils the needs for vaccinations, urgent access to quality healthcare or medical evacuation on a tailored basis. It fills a much needed gap in healthcare insurance provision.”
In recognition of its continued excellence as a global health insurer, Allianz Worldwide Care was highly commended by the judges in the category of Best International Private Health Insurance Provider.
The judges agreed that, “Allianz Worldwide Care displays a fantastic service-led culture that is present throughout the company and which ultimately benefits its clients.  The company also makes great use of its website to explain healthcare insurance options and engage with its target markets.” The judges “particularly liked the split between pre and post sales information, which made for a clear and transparent offering”.

“It’s a testament to the entire team at Allianz Worldwide Care that we have been recognised in two categories that are extremely important to our business and indeed, the culture of our business.  We are a client-centric company that not only likes to lead the market in terms of innovation, but also takes the time to listen to the needs of our clients.  This approach has enabled us to develop the NGO Care plans in association with Antaé, which has a solution for every NGO, regardless of employee category, nationality, location or duration of assignment”.

“It’s an honour to have received not one, but two industry awards as we continually set new standards to maintain our reputation for service excellence.”

In concluding their comments, the judges felt that: “Allianz Worldwide Care’s market coverage was in the top tier for multinationals and SMEs and that its products have a knack of reflecting global mobility trends in health insurance”. Their commendation included the “great strides Allianz Worldwide Care has made in using its size and importance to educate on private health insurance for the good of the industry overall”.

Allianz Worldwide Care, which is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, continues to experience dynamic growth as it expands its global footprint through partnerships in key markets such as Belgium, China and Australia, in support of the company’s growing client base.
