A lot of questions go through your mind when you or a loved one is diagnosed with a serious illness, or are living with a chronic condition. A Second Medical Opinion may provide you with further information when you are unsure about a diagnosis, treatment options, or need surgery. Knowing exactly what you are dealing with and getting advice from an independent medical professional/expert may give you a clearer way forward.

You may need a Second Medical Opinion if you or your dependants are:

  • Unsure about the initial diagnosis
  • Unclear about a treatment and need advice from a specialist
  • Looking for a specialist on your condition
  • Seeking  guidance on where to receive treatment
Check if your GlobalPass plan includes Second Medical Opinion. Where covered, this would be  listed in your Table of Benefits.

Send an email to medical.smo@allianz.com with the completed form and your medical report (dated within last 6 months) attached.
You will be contacted by an independent Second Medical Opinion provider, outside of the Allianz group called Teladoc. Teladoc will discuss your case and guide you through every step of the process.
At the end of the process you will receive a Second Medical Opinion report from Teladoc , with a clear diagnosis and a treatment plan that’s right for you.
Allianz Care will contact you a few days after the report is issued to go through your options and to discuss what steps you would like to take next on your treatment journey.
