Our Care International health insurance plans are designed for people who spend long periods overseas. It works much like health insurance at home: you’re not just covered for emergency treatment, but also for your diagnosis, post-treatment care and health and wellbeing checks (as indicated in the Table of Benefits).

But if you are working, travelling or living abroad for less than a year, our short-term cover is the best fit for you.

Yes, you can get international health Insurance with worldwide coverage. Our plans are designed to cover you whether you're living abroad, traveling frequently, or relocating to multiple countries. For most plans you can choose coverage that includes or excludes the USA, depending on your needs and budget.

*Our policies don’t provide any cover or benefit for any business or activity to the extent that either the cover or benefit or the underlying business or activity would violate any applicable sanction law or regulations of the United Nations, the European Union or any other applicable economic or trade sanction law or regulations.

You can choose to pay your premiums annually, half-yearly, quarterly or monthly by direct debit card. You can also pay by bank transfer, but monthly payments won’t be available if you choose this payment method. Payments are subject to the following administration surcharges: 0% for annual payment, 3% for half-yearly payments, 4% for quarterly payments and 5% for monthly payments.

The payment frequency and methods stated above do not apply to some specialised or regional plans. Please refer to your policy documents to check the payment methods and frequency available to you.
Coverage for pre-existing medical conditions (including pre-existing chronic conditions) depends on the medical underwriting terms you accepted.

  • For policies which were fully medically underwritten, pre-existing conditions are generally covered unless we say otherwise in your policy documents.
  • For policies with moratorium, pre-existing conditions are only eligible for coverage once you’ve completed a continuous 24-month period after your start date and have not had symptoms, needed or received treatment, medication, a special diet or advice, or had any other indications of the condition during that time.
  • For non-underwritten policies, pre-existing medical conditions are covered subject to the benefits, terms and conditions of the policy. Watch the Video to discover the difference between Full medical underwriting and Moratorium insurance.

Most of our health insurance contracts are for one year – but we have a short-term plan to suit members who need international health insurance for less than a year (3, 6 or 9 months). For all products, there is a 30 day cooling off period from the start date. After this, the policy may not be cancelled until renewal, regardless of whether a monthly or annual payment frequency is chosen.

These services are made available to you subject to your acceptance of your policy’s terms and conditions, as well as the service’s terms and conditions as set out by the relevant third party service provider. By accepting the third party service providers’ terms and conditions, you enter a separate contractual relationship directly with them. Their services may be subject to geographical restrictions. Full details of the third party service providers’ terms and conditions are available in their websites and in the relevant application and/or platform where services may be hosted. The third party service providers are independent data controllers, and we recommend that you review their privacy notices to understand how they process your personal data.  The third party service providers offer non-insurance services that are not intended to be a substitute for in-person medical consultations, diagnosis, treatment, assessment or care.
