People are at the heart of what we do. So each month we want to introduce you to one of our Allianz Care Champions, the wonderful staff helping our customers across the globe every day. This month, meet Emiliano, rockstar and care champion.
Meet Emiliano, a part-time Rockstar and Allianz Care champion. As a Senior Claims Officer, Emiliano is one of the crucial contacts when it comes to making decisions for or finding the best solutions for our customers.
We sat down with Emiliano to find out more about his passion for music and his life at Allianz Care.
When did your passion for music, and guitar-playing, begin?
'I started playing the guitar when I was 15. I had a cheap, broken and nearly string-less guitar growing up, but I still loved it. One day I was at dinner with some people who could play sing-along songs. I grabbed a fully stringed guitar and tried to play something, which accidentally turned out to be the first chord of "All I Want Is You" by U2. After that, I insisted I wanted to really play that thing and my dad bought me a real classic guitar. And I haven’t put the guitar down since.'
What is your favourite style of music to play?
'I have always loved rock. ‘The Joshua Tree’ is the first album I fell in love with when I was 12, quickly replaced by Guns ‘N Roses’ ‘Appetite For Destruction’ a year later. But generally speaking, I have now evolved more into a 70's rock kind of guitar player, focused on heavy riffs and fun solos.'
Do you ever play live or as part of a band?
'I play in a Dublin based band called DoubleCross. We play gigs once or twice a month after work hours because we are all so passionate about music. We play a lot of covers and it’s great fun. Being the only non-Irish member of the band it’s been a great way to meet people in Dublin as well and have a whole other group of friends.'
How do you balance your passion for music and your work in Allianz Care?
'After work, I try to practice the guitar every day, and we have rehearsals about twice a week also. I am fortunate that I have a job where I am able to plan my passions outside of my work hours. I am a senior Claims Officer so I mainly take care of claims coming from our members and ensure they are processed fairly and timely. But also, given my experience and competency, I also advise new hires and less experienced colleagues when they think it is necessary and assist Management in any task they trust me with.'
If you had to sum up your experience as part of Allianz Care in one word what would it be?
'Responsibility. We deal with health: people request our service when they need it, not when they want it. We have to ensure that the experience our members have with us is always the best we can offer. You do feel a great deal of responsibility but it’s not one we take lightly. We care about our work, about the people and about their wellbeing.'
Every month we’ll be introducing you to a new Allianz Care Champion. People are at the heart of what we do and we think it’s important to showcase the wonderful staff who are here every day to help our thousands of customers across the globe.
